Tools for Assessing Global Competences
Beyond incorporating global competences into our instruction, we also need to be able to assess our students and their work for global competences. Here are a couple of sources that may be helpful in guiding your thinking and planning for incorporating global competences into instruction and assessing for them.
My favorite source are the "global competence matrices" provided in the appendices of the Asia Society's "Educating for Global Competence: Preparing Our Youth to Engage the World" (linked on the home page, and also again below). There is a general global competence matrix, and then one for the major disciplines. A couple of snapshots and the link are below.

Another tool that can be very useful in our practice of globalizing our teaching and learning is the "Global Education Checklist for Teachers, Schools, School Systems and State Education Agencies" by Fred Czarra and published by the American Forum for Global Education.
